BEC Group awards Megacenter Brickell Storage Facility to DAR

DAR Finish Specialties, Inc. has been awarded subcontract from BEC Group to furnish and install doors, frames, hardware and bath accessories for Megacenter Brickell Phase I Storage Facility. One of two phases which includes a self storage building and an apartment building in Brickell, FL.

"The mixed-use Megacenter Brickell project has broken ground near Miami’s Brickell neighborhood.

FirstBank Florida, a division of FirstBank Puerto Rico, provided a $19.31 million construction loan to

Megacenter Brickell LLC, managed by Patricio Ureta and Pablo Wichmann in Medley. It will support the construction of the 12-story project at 420 S.W. 7th St. and 427 S.W. 8th St., just west of Interstate 95.

BEC Group Services recently filed notice with the county that it broke ground on the project. It will have 15,804 square feet of offices, 74,022 square feet of self-storage, 57 apartments and 9,765 square feet of retail.

The apartments will be in one building with a rooftop pool deck, while the office and self-storage will be in a second building. The retail will be on the ground floor. The project will have 111 parking spaces.

The project was designed by Borges Architects + Associates.Megacenter provides self-storage and office suites. A subsidiary of Red Megcentro, the company has more than 40 locations in Chile, Peru and South Florida."
